2018 DC-AIA Elections!

posted Feb 12, 2018, 10:05 AM by AIA DC   [ updated Feb 12, 2018, 10:17 AM ]
It is time for the 2018 election of officers and members of the Board of Governors.  In accordance with our Society's by-laws, all six officers serve annual terms and therefore always appear on the ballot. Eric Cline has opted to vacate his office as AIA Liaison in order to run for a position on the Board of Governors, and Elise Friedland has been nominated to replace him in this office.

Three of the nine positions on the Board of Governors, each with three-year terms, also expire this year and so appear on the ballot. Of these, two of the incumbents are standing for re-election, and Eric Cline is running for the third position.

Additionally, since former board member Diane Cline has moved into the position of Vice President, the President appointed Emily Egan to fill out the rest of that 3-year term (until May 2020). Since this appointment, however, still needs to be confirmed by vote of the entire membership, her position appears on the ballot as well.

Instructions:  Click here or see the link below to open up the ballot. At the bottom of each page is a forward arrow button that you must click on to move through the ballot. Once you have advanced past the last position (which is clearly marked as such), your ballot will be recorded. For any position, you may cast your ballot for the named candidate, or you may select the "write-in" option and enter the name of a candidate of your own choosing. The ballots are anonymous, and we ask you to please vote only once.

Voting is Online:

Election results will be presented at the annual business meeting, scheduled for 7 PM on Thursday, March 1 in Room 0106 Francis Scott Key Hall, The University of Maryland, College Park.  The meeting will be followed by a DC-AIA Lecture by Dr. Art Trembanis of the University of Delaware.
