Long time member and friend of DC-AIA, Mary Peacock, has passed away. Mary had served overseas as a member of our intelligence services in a number of interesting places, most notably in Baghdad, where she got to know the Sanders. She was a descendant of the colonial family which built and continues to own Eyre Hall in the Virginia portion of the Delmarva peninsula. Mary was sent to boarding school in Baltimore and was a graduate of Vassar College. For a number of years in the 2000s, she regularly played bridge with an AIA foursome that consisted of Valerie French (deceased), Yvonne Dixon, and Lucinda Conger (current DC-AIA Secretary).

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at 2pm at St. John's Episcopal Church in Georgetown (3240 O St. NW).

According to Lucinda Conger, Mary "was a tall, elegant woman, with snow white hair and an educated voice. She will be missed."
