"What Makes a Statue?" - Mattusch Lecture

Incorporating the statues on display in the National Gallery of Art's "Power and Pathos" exhibit, Carol Mattusch (Mathy Professor of Art History, George Mason University) will give a lecture entitled "What Makes a Statue?" Mattusch will explore questions such as: What did the complete statues look like? What were these sculptures used for? And were they all statues or did some of them serve other functions?
