VALERIE FRENCH
The Washington D.C. Society honors the memory of Valerie French each year with this fundraising event. Based at American University, Professor French taught ancient history, published on children, childbirth, and parenting in the ancient Mediterranean, and was a long-time member of our D.C. Society, for which she served as both president and treasurer. Her legacy lives on through this annual fundraiser, the proceeds of which support Society functions and travel fellowships for local DMV students.
